How to insert cookies consent
Cookies are small files stored in the web browser of the user's computer. The legal regulation of the use of cookies regarding the personal data protection requires in certain cases the consent of the site visitor to use the cookies.
Without the customer's consent only necessary cookies can be processed. Necessary cookies ensure the proper site functionality. If you also use other than necessary cookies (e.g. you have analytical or monitoring tools such as google analytics, facebook, tracking tools and others deployed on the site), you need the visitor's consent to use these cookies.
If the website uses only necessary cookies (does not have analytical, monitoring tools,...), the cookie consent is not required. However, do not forget to include information about cookies on the website (e.g. in the Information about cookies or Personal data processing).
1/ COOKIE CONSENT by ClickEshop (recommended):
Websites and online stores created by ClickEshop platform can use a component for managing cookie consent that is compatible with Google Consent Mode V2. This modern component is designed for mobile devices, laptops and high-resolution PCs and we recommend using this solution for the consent mode.
To activate the cookie consent component follow the steps bellow:
- in clickeshop administration click Content Management, move the mouse to the left and in the left toolbar, click the Global HTML Code / Page header tab
- insert the following code in the Page header:
<script>
window.data_ce_cookie_consent =
{ btn_ok: "I agree", btn_no: "I decline", btn_stgs: "Customize",
info_text:
"This website uses cookies. We use cookies and other tracking technologies to improve your browsing experience on our website, to show you personalized content and targeted ads, to analyze our website traffic and to understand where our visitors come from. <a href='/business-conditions/m221'>More information</a>"
};
</script> - in the embedded code for consent mode there is a link to your business terms. Open your website in new tab and click Terms&Conditions. Check the business conditions link directly on your URL page to see if it ends with the number m221. If you have a business terms with a different number, just replace this number in the code in the page header with the correct number from the URL link of your page. The letter m must be left with this number.
- press the button "Save"
- done
Subsequently, after deploying the "cookie consent management" component, you can deploy other additional scripts (codes) that allow such consents easily. It is mainly: google tag manager, google analytics, google e-commerce tracking, facebook pixel and others.
These other additional scripts (codes) must be deployed in ClickEshop administration in Footer tab. In ClickEshop administration click the Content management, move the mouse to the left and in the left toolbar click the Global HTML Code - Page footer / marketing tab where you copy the scripts.
The "cookie consent management" component works in 2 modes:
1.1 Strict mode
Insert additional external scripts (codes) in Global HTML Code - Page Footer / Marketing tab
External scripts inserted in the Page footer / marketing tab will be executed only if the customer gives the consent. If the customer does not give the consent, the scripts inserted in this tab will not be executed. This tab for scripts also ensures that external scripts are not executed even on sub-pages where the customer's personal data is handled, such as Registration etc. This is important regarding the General Data Protection Regulation in the EU (GDPR).
1.2 Monitoring mode
Insert additional external scripts (codes) in Global HTML Code - Page footer tab
Additional external scripts inserted into regular Page footer will always be executed, regardless of whether the customer gives consent. Nevertheless, when the page is loaded for the first time, the objection to monitoring and marketing is set automatically to the dataLayer for additional scripts, which if set correctly via google tag manager, will receive this objection.
2/ GOOGLE-CERTIFIED CONSENT MANAGEMENT PLATFORMS (CMP)
ClickEshop is an open system and allows you to use consent management certified by Google. If you use a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP), your CMP provider will automatically update to the newest version of consent mode.

CMP certified by Google usually require a monthly fee to use that module. If you want to avoid monthly fees for cookie consent, we recommend deploying the component described above in point 1/. Check the exact conditions of the specific cookie consent module with the given manufacturer.
We recommend to do the following steps to implement consent mode correctly (e.g. cookie consent):
- deploy Google Tag Manager on your website
How to insert GTM click here - if you are already using Google tag manager on your website, you can easily use e.g. "Cookiebot" as a consent mode by entering "Cookiebot" and finding Cookiebot CMP branding template. Subsequently, you just set the options for Cookiebot CMP suitable for your website.
Through Google tag manager, you simply click on the consent mode certified by Google and there is no need to deploy any complicated scripts on the page. It is important not to have any third-party monitoring scripts directly deployed on your site (such as Google analytics, Facebook pixel, etc.), but have these third-party scripts clicked directly through Google Tag manager.
Recommendation: do not deploy any third-party scripts on the page, only Google Tag manager. Subsequently, you can access all third-party functionalities such as Google analytics, Facebook pixel and others only via Google Tag manager.
